CEIR (Center for Exhibition Industry Research) Index
Published annually, and updated quarterly, the CEIR Index provides an objective measure of exhibition performance since the baseline year of 2000. The index reveals performance in 11 different industry sectors and sheds light on the economic factors that accelerate or inhibit exhibition growth. Utilizing charts, graphs and data analysis, event organizers and their organizations can gauge how their show compares to others. While industry analysts will learn which are the top-performing industries and which sectors are in transition.

CEIR Census
First published in 2000, and updated again in 2005, the CEIR Census provides data on the 14,000+ events in North America occupying at least 3,000 net square feet of exhibit space and at least 10 exhibiting companies – including both B2B and consumer events.

DMAI (Destination Marketing Association International, formerly IACVB) ExPact Study
ExPact, short for "expenditure impact", measured the delegate, exhibitor, and event organizer local spending for meetings, conventions, and trade shows. In addition to calculating average daily and per event spending for these three groups, ExPact also provided insight to lodging patterns and hotel attrition, as well as the total economic impact of an event to the local market.

CIC (Convention Industry Council) Economic Impact Study
This study illustrates the economic impact of the meetings, conventions, exhibitions, and incentive travel industry in the United States. Last published in 1994, the Economic Impact Study reveals to the world the “hidden” industry of meetings, convention, et al. If total direct spending related to the meetings, conventions, exhibitions, and incentive travel industry was used to approximate the industry’s contribution to GDP, it would rank 29th among all U.S. private sector industries in 2004.
