Leona is responsible for overseeing the operations of the accounting services practice serving Veris’ tax-exempt clients. In addition, Leona manages and performs compilations as well as a full range of other advisory services including design and implementation of accounting policies and procedures, financial analysis, budgeting and general business consulting.

Leona joined the company in 1999 after spending 12 years with Acacia Life Insurance Company as its Vice President of Tax and Treasurer. She was responsible for tax planning and compliance for Acacia Mutual Holding Corporation and its subsidiaries, a diversified financial services group, in addition to short term cash management, banking relationships, corporate financing and financial reporting. Leona earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from The College of William and Mary. She received her law degree from George Mason University as well as her Master of Science degree in Information Systems. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Bar Association.
