Avery to Serve as Program Faculty for ALI-CLE's 2019 Accountant's Liability Course to be held on Oct 17 & 18, 2019

Michelle Avery, Senior Managing Director and Practice Leader, Accounting & Auditing Litigation, will serve as program faculty for the American Legal Institute’s – Continuing Legal Education’s 2019 Accountant’s Liability Course.   This year's course, “Strategies for The Profession in an Era of Heightened Enforcement”, will be held Oct. 17 & 18, 2019 at the Renaissance Downtown in Washington D.C.  Avery’s session titled “New Accounting Standards – What You Need to Know and Observations from the Commission’s Office of the Chief Accountant” will be held on Thurs., Oct. 17.

About this Session:  Over the past decade, the Financial Accounting Standards Board has issued multiple once in-a-generation standards. The profession’s transition efforts are in full swing as companies of all sizes work to implement the new requirements. During this session, expert accountants will provide a high-level overview of the new standards, including revenue recognition, leases, and expected credit losses. Staff from the Commission’s Office of the Chief Accountant will offer insight on the new standards, including perspectives gained from OCA’s consultation process with registrants.
