Mike Peterson, CPA, CFE

Mike provides forensic accounting and litigation consulting services in the areas of fraud investigations, risk assessments, financial statement analysis, post-acquisition disputes, and economic damages.  He assists counsel in all aspects of litigation and arbitration proceedings including document review and discovery, preparation of expert reports, rebuttal of opposing experts, and deposition and trial assistance.

Mike has extensive experience in financial statement auditing, internal controls (SOX) and internal audit, forensic accounting, and litigation consulting. He has led and participated in engagements involving post-acquisition disputes, breach of contract disputes, bribery and corruption (FCPA) investigations, employee fraud and defalcation, auditor malpractice, accounting record reconstruction, and other issues related to the interpretation and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).  

Mike has worked with clients in the across a range of industries, including financial services, insurance, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, federal government, and professional services.

Mike joined Veris after eight years of experience with KPMG where he provided financial statement audit, forensic accounting, and dispute consulting services to clients in both the public and private sector.
